(WBAP/KLIF) — The U.S. Department of Agriculture says it will begin fully funding the SNAP program immediately, following a court ruling from a federal judge in Rhode Island ordering the Trump administration to fund it.

According to Patrick Penn with NBC News, Deputy Undersecretary of the Food, Nutrition and Consumer Services Patrick Penn says states should have funds available as early as today.

The DOJ has appealed the court’s ruling, however the Trump Administration will follow the order while their appeal continues.
