Today, I want to take a moment to honor my husband, Donald Maurice Owens III – US Army RET, 21 Years Airborne, for his service to this country and the heart he continues to lead with every day.
During his 21 years of service, Donald earned the Bronze Star Medal, awarded to him by General David Petraeus — a recognition that reflects not only his courage in uniform, but the strength and integrity he still lives by today.
Serving in the military isn’t just about duty — it’s about discipline, sacrifice, and the kind of quiet strength that shapes who you are long after the uniform comes off. Watching Don live his life with integrity, loyalty, and love reminds me what real leadership looks like.
To every veteran and active-duty service member — thank you for showing up, protecting what matters, and carrying a weight most people will never understand.
