The McClishes, who run Big Klass CDL School, are seeking justice after their trucks were repeatedly stolen.
DALLAS — From the military to civilian life, Kyree McClish has always been about service.
“I am a disabled veteran,” said Kyree McClish, Big Klass CDL Director. “I just feel like giving back was something that every American should do.”
He and his wife, Carolina McClish, started Big Klass CDL School, a truck driving school offering a fresh start to many who are unhoused, formerly incarcerated, and veterans.
“We take pride in what we do,” Carolina McClish said.
“It kind of helps drive me into a positive mind state,” Kyree McClish said.
Their business fuels resilience, but it has tested their own.
Four weeks ago, WFAA first showed videos shared by the McClish of a thief stealing their semi-truck in May. Thieves stole the truck again in June.
“We had another break in and this time he stole two trucks,” Kyree McClish said.
Surveillance video caught the thief on their property. They were able to track down the person using their stolen truck because of a receipt left behind.
That receipt led to a business in Dallas who shared video of who the McClishes believe is responsible for the thefts.
“It’s really sad,” Carolina McClish said. “It’s been businesses that we have to turn down because again we are down on equipment.”
The first two thefts, the McClishes said DPD took hours and even days to respond. The third time, they tracked down an officer in the area.
“You have to act like an investigator and start chasing,” Carolina McClish said.
Police said they are investigating, and no arrests have been made yet. According to their policy, burglary of a business is a lower priority call that can have longer response times.
“I just want something done,” Kyree McClish said. “I think we deserve that, especially when we’re actually changing lives and putting people to work.”
It’s a business of service asking for the same in response.
