Monsoon mayhem across the nation is splashed across social media with viral reels and videos showing the scale of devastation.
Some of the worst affected are places in Himachal, Jammu & Kashmir, and Punjab among others, that are suffering from relentless rain. Critical routes like the Kullu-Manali-Leh National Highway (NH-3) are damaged.
As the Beas river overflows, here are a few glimpses of the fury of the flood in Himachal. One of the videos shows houses disintegrating, while another shows the iconic Sher-e-Punjabi restaurant washed away, leaving just the front facade of the building. Another clip shows a terrifying landslide on the Dirang-Tawang road in Arunachal Pradesh. A trailer truck drowning in a flooded river in Odisha’s Sundergarh is one of the most heartrending sights, as the driver is still missing.

Amid visuals of the deluge, a clip of an unidentified train from the Indian Railways has gone viral showing several coaches fallen off a bridge and partially submerged in the flooded river. The viral video has been flagged by users online as AI-generated. One user remarked, “Start regulating generative AI before it gets too late.” Another user quipped, “The 2029 election will be very interesting. By that time AI will run riot in spreading misinformation.” Yet another requested that the “Rail ministry should take strict action” against the culprits creating and circulating these videos.
Came across a lot of AI-generated train accident videos circulating on social media lately.
