Watch First Woman In The World With Neuralink Chip Writes Name And Draw By ‘Telepathy’; Elon Musk Reacts

Audrey Crews became the first woman in history to get a chip implant by Neuralink last week.

Crews was P9 (Patient 9) for Neuralink’s Brain Chip Implant (BCI), along with P8. Post the complicated surgical procedure that she underwent on July 26, at the firm’s Miami Health Center, Crews shared before-and-after snaps and clips.

Sharing a video of herself trying to scribble her name digitally on a computer screen, Crews quipped, “I tried writing my name for the first time in 20 years. I’m working on it. Lol.” She also shared a few doodles she did using “Telepathy.”

She mentioned, “I have no movement in my hands. I was in a car accident in 2005 at the age of 16.” A quadriplegic since the age of 16, Crews is gearing up to document her journey in a book.

In a follow-up post on her Neuralink surgery, Audrey Crews briefed on X/Twitter what went on at the OT. She wrote that the surgeons “drilled a hole in my skull and placed 128 threads into my motor cortex.”

She continued, “The chip is about the size of a quarter. The staff of the University of Miami Health Center was awesome. They treated me like a VIP and are some of the sweetest people I’ve ever met.”

“The BCI lets me control my computer using my mind. I’ll be able to control more electronic devices in the near future. I also want to clarify this implant will not allow me to walk again or regain movement. It’s strictly for telepathy only,” she added.

When asked if she feels liberated, Audrey Crews beemingly tweeted, “absoulely.”
