The beloved fast food chain, headquartered in San Antonio since 2009, will celebrate the milestone anniversary in August.
SAN ANTONIO — Texas fast food staple Whataburger will be celebrating 75 years of business soon and is touting a mouth-watering deal to mark the milestone.
The restaurant chain says National Whataburger Day will return Aug. 8. On that day, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. local time, hungry customers will be able to snag a classic single-patty No. 1 Whataburger so long as they order online or through the app.
Add-ons will cost you extra, so prepare to pay a bit more if you like yours with cheese or jalapeños. Customers will be able to snag no more than one 75-cent Whataburger per account.
“Seventy-five years after serving our first burger from a stand in Corpus Christi, we’re honoring the fans who made it possible,” Whataburger said.
The celebration goes beyond discounted dinners. A new round of commemorative cups featuring three new designs will debut Aug. 5, available online and in some restaurants. Corpus Christi fans, meanwhile, are invited to an “Orange Out” celebration at Whataburger Field to cheer on the Corpus Christi Hooks while dressed in “their best orange gear.”
Whataburger, which has been headquartered in San Antonio since 2009, has grown to have more than 1,000 restaurants in 17 states over the last 75 years.
