President Donald Trump just pulled a move — and this time, it’s all about fitness and stirring the pot while he’s at it. With politicians and star athletes in the mix, this rollout had big stage energy — and definitely wasn’t your average White House moment. Even media personality Van Lathan had something to say, chiming in with a side-eye-worthy reaction to one of Trump’s supporters that’s got the internet talking.

Trump Wants To “Make America Fit Again”
Trump just signed an executive order bringing back the Presidential Fitness Test, along with revamping the federal sports council as part of his campaign to “Make America Healthy Again.” Additionally, the test was quietly phased out back in 2013 during President Obama’s time in office. This blast-from-the-past moment was more than a signature — it was a full production. Vice President JD Vance, Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and a lineup of sports icons like Lawrence Taylor, Harrison Butker, and Triple H were all in the building to co-sign the plan.

The newly revitalized President’s Council on Sports, Fitness & Nutrition isn’t just about doing pushups and running laps. Trump called the test the “gold standard” and tasked the council with building new school fitness programs, bringing back the Presidential Fitness Award. And, the push seemingly dives straight into controversy. It includes reforming the NCAA transfer portal and, as the White House put it, “keeping men out of women’s sports.” With the U.S. set to host the Ryder Cup, FIFA World Cup, and Olympics in the next few years, Trump seems to be all about flexing — both politically and literally.
Van Lathan Sounds Off On Lawrence Taylor
A recent White House event with Donald Trump to announce the initiative left Van Lathan hopping on Instagram to call out former NFL star Lawrence Taylor. Taylor had a bit of an awkward moment while standing beside Trump during the order’s signing. Noticeably, Taylor shrugged and said, “I don’t know what I’m doing.” And, it’s a comment that had folks online raising eyebrows. The initiative is meant to promote youth fitness, but Taylor’s confusion had many wondering what was really going on.
In a post to Instagram, Van Lathan shared a clip of the press conference with the caption:
“This is the worst era of OGs I can remember… Lawrence Taylor to Trump: ‘I don’t know why. I don’t know what we’re supposed to be doing, but I’m here to serve, and I’m here to serve you.’”
