WOOM Announce New EP, Share New Single ‘Slow You’ – Our Culture

WOOM, who were featured in our Artist Spotlight series back in 2021, have announced a new EP called To Slow You. It arrives August 28 via House Anxiety. The disquieting lead single ‘Slow You’, which highlights the group’s hauntingly arranged harmonies, comes paired with a video from director Billy Howard Price. Check it out below.

“It’s a song about confronting the shadow parts of ourselves—the fears and anxieties that follow us around like ghosts,” WOOM explained in a press release. “It’s about acknowledging them in order to let go, to ‘give up the ghost,’ and find a way to slow down in this fast-moving world. The track was born out of hours of looping and experimentation, we played with the voice and production intuitively and ended up echoing the songs themes; vocal effects that feel almost possessed, wordless breaths and hums building rhythm communicating something internal, and a lamenting saxophone that weaves through it all, all building toward a final moment of release.”
