Since the state began issuing letter grades in 2018, Wylie ISD has never earned less than an “A.”
WYLIE, Texas — Wylie Independent School District is celebrating another milestone.
In an announcement posted on the school district’s website, Wylie ISD has once again received the highest possible rating from the Texas Education Agency (TEA), earning an overall “A” in the 2025 A-F Accountability Ratings. The district’s streak of excellence continues, with every eligible campus also receiving an “A” and a distinction in this year’s results.
The TEA’s accountability system evaluates schools and districts across three key categories: student achievement, school progress, and closing the gaps. These measures include STAAR test performance, graduation rates, and indicators of college, career, and military readiness.
Since the state began issuing letter grades in 2018, Wylie ISD has never earned less than an “A,” a record Superintendent David Vinson says highlights more than just academic achievement.
“No matter which school a student attends in Wylie ISD, regardless of its size, location, or demographics, they are receiving the same great education and showing real growth in their learning,” Vinson said.
In addition to the 2025 scores, the district also received an “A” for 2024, which had been delayed due to a lawsuit over the rating system. A recent decision by the 15th Court of Appeals allowed the TEA to release the 2024 data alongside this year’s results. Both years’ ratings will be publicly available beginning Friday, Aug. 15, at txschools.gov.
“A letter grade doesn’t define a student or a school, but it does give us one more measure to ensure we’re on the right track,” Vinson said.
School Board President Dr. Jacob Day said the results simply affirm what the community already knows.
“Our students are learning at high levels, our teachers are going above and beyond, and our community is deeply invested in student success,” Day said. “This recognition reinforces what we see every day in our classrooms and throughout our campuses.”
