Nationwide — Kiyah Elana, a 27-year-old African American mom from San Diego, California, has launched Help For Women, a new program to help other women and moms become homeowners. As a young real estate agent and licensed mortgage loan officer, her goal is to empower a demographic that is often ignored when it comes to homeownership. Through education, access to down payment assistance, and personalized support, Kiyah is using her expertise to break down barriers and make the dream of owning a home more accessible for single moms, first-time buyers, and working women.
Kiyah’s passion for real estate stems from her own journey as a young mom navigating the challenges of buying a home while juggling work and motherhood. Realizing how little guidance was available for women in her situation, she decided to create a program that would provide the resources and mentorship she wished she had. Help For Women offers webinars, credit-building workshops, and one-on-one consultations that walk clients through the process of buying their first home.
One of the most impactful features of the program is its focus on financial education. Participants learn how to budget, improve their credit scores, and take advantage of special loan programs that are often overlooked. Kiyah believes that financial literacy is key to closing the housing gap for women, particularly women of color, who face systemic challenges when trying to build wealth through property ownership.
In addition to her work with clients, Kiyah is also partnering with local nonprofits and community centers to host free homeownership webinars nationwide and local seminars across San Diego County. These events are designed to be family-friendly and welcoming to women from all walks of life. By fostering a supportive environment and sharing success stories, she hopes to inspire more women to believe that homeownership is within their reach.
