Fictional beer from King of the Hill may soon be a reality

Alamo Beer Company will bring King of the Hill’s Alamo Beer to life, hitting H-E-B shelves on July 28th.

SAN ANTONIO — The famous beer from King of the Hill, could soon become a reality, I tell you what.

The iconic image from the hit show has all four best friends-Hank, Dale, Boomhauer and Bill-standing outside Hank’s fence drinking their staple, Alamo Beer, with a logo evoking the famous San Antonio mission. The fictional beer is said to be a stand-in for a Texas home brew like Shiner Bock or Lone Star.

Ahead of the classic show’s revival series, San Antonio brewery, Alamo Beer Company, announced on its website it will be making the fake beer a reality. The craft brewery posted on its website, “Hot dang! It’s gonna be on shelves at H-E-B and other fine retailers on July 28th. Already available at Mega Lo Mart. We’ve sent an email.”

The company’s Instagram page says there will be a launch party on July 26.

The original series ran for 13 seasons from 1997 to 2010, but, like many classic shows, was recently revived with a new season in 2025, which picks up with the characters several years after the show ended. The revival series is set to debut on August 4, 2025, on Hulu+ and Disney+.

Alamo Beer Company opened in 2015 as a brewery and beer hall in the Dignowity Hill Neighborhood on the city’s east side. Back in February, the company said it was filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, but was restructuring and reorganizing to stay in business. Alamo Beer Company said at the time it had partnered with San Antonio craft company Viva Beer to stay afloat.
