Apple’s iPhone 17 Pro models could see a major design shift this year, with leaks suggesting a move from titanium to an aluminium frame paired with a half-aluminium, half-glass back. The new design aims to boost durability while retaining wireless charging capabilities via the glass section. The camera layout might also change, replacing the familiar square module with a large rectangular bump to house the triple-camera setup.

In terms of aesthetics, a bold new orange colour option could join the lineup, alongside black, white, grey, and dark blue. The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are expected to maintain their 6.3-inch and 6.8-inch sizes but may feature a smaller Dynamic Island. Additionally, Apple might offer an anti-reflective display coating and expand ProMotion refresh rate technology to all iPhone 17 models, removing its Pro exclusivity.

Under the hood, the Pro models could be powered by Apple’s new A19 Pro chip built on TSMC’s 3nm process, paired with 12GB of RAM for improved multitasking and Apple Intelligence performance. A vapour chamber cooling system may also debut to prevent thermal throttling, while the iPhone 17 Pro Max could see a significant battery upgrade to 5,000mAh. Both Pro models might finally gain reverse wireless charging and faster wired (45W) and wireless (25W) charging support.
The camera department could see substantial improvements, with the front-facing camera upgraded to 24MP and the telephoto lens jumping from 12MP to 48MP — bringing all three rear cameras to 48MP. Video capabilities might expand to 8K recording, along with dual-video recording from front and rear cameras simultaneously, a feature seen on many Android devices. These changes could make the iPhone 17 Pro lineup one of Apple’s most feature-packed to date.
