Flower Mound Fire Department working to douse large grass fire

FLOWER MOUND, Texas — Crews are working to put out a large grass fire in North Texas, officials announced.

Smoke could be seen billowing up from the fire in the Canyon Falls area north of FM 1171 and west of U.S. 377. 

The Flower Mound Fire Department is working to put the fire out. The department confirmed to WFAA that the fire has spread to multiple acres, but due to the smoke, they were unable to give an exact estimate.

The department said that due to the fire, FM 1171 is closed at U.S. 377.

FMFD said there have been no injuries or evacuations at this time.
