The country’s unemployment rate fell to 3.9 percent in May, from 4.1 percent in the preceding month, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) reported on Tuesday.

This means there were 2.03 million jobless individuals in May, down from 2.06 million before.

The City Board of Canvassers (CBOC) of Manila has officially proclaimed Bienvenido “Benny” Abante Jr. as the duly elected representative of the city’s sixth district in the 2025 midterm elections.

The proclamation was held at 9 a.m. on Tuesday at the Office of the Election Officer for Manila’s third district in Ermita.

Two more senators have signed  a resolution, calling for the immediate  repatriation of former President Rodrigo Duterte from the Hague, Netherlands.

Sen. Robin Padilla said his resolution, which he has yet to file in the 20th Congress, was signed by senators  Christopher “Bong” Go and  Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa, two known allies of Duterte.
