MEGYN KELLY (HOST): And now we have, I don’t know if we call it detente, but President Trump talked to Tim Walz yesterday. They agreed to take down the temperature, that President Trump seems to be suggesting, if they would just give us the criminals in the jails, we’ll leave.
That’s not right. I’m sorry, but that’s incomplete. That’s actually not all that we want, if you ask me.
What the American people favored the removal of, yes, criminal illegals, meaning illegals who have committed additional crimes. But what about the ones who are not sitting in the jail? What about the ones who are still at large? I want them caught. I want them deported. I’m not OK with just getting rid of the ones who are in the jails.
And secondly, the vast majority of Americans, before this operation started, wanted all illegals deported, whether they’d committed a crime or not. And I’m still amongst those people. I want them gone. I don’t want this — if we stop at just the ones who are in the jail, then this whole operation has worked, then we have shamed the administration out of doing what it was elected to do, and it will be repeated in other blue cities to keep it limited to just the criminals who have been arrested so far.
If that’s the actual understanding — and as with anything, it’s less than clear, as it’s like a Truth Social post from which we’re supposed to glean policy — then it’s not good enough. I mean, I’m all for taking the temperature down, but not by bending the knee.
This is an operation that is just and has majority support, or at least it did, prior to these leftist tactics.
And I understand we need to take the temperature down in terms of the polls and the midterms and all that, but we cannot stop at just the ones who happen to be sitting right now in the county jails in Minneapolis.
