Mukesh Ambani Draws Zero Salary For Fifth Consecutive Year; Internet Jibes ‘Apna Ghar Kaise Chalate Honge?’

The richest Asian family’s mukhiya, Mr. Mukesh Ambani, drew a salary of INR 0/- only for the fifth year straight. The richest billionaire from India, Ambani, forgoes his compensation ever since Covid-19.

Per an official filing at the BSE by the Ambani-led Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL), Anant Ambani, Isha Ambani, and Akash Ambani received equal compensation from the conglomerate in FY 24-25.

Meanwhile, here’s how much the board of directors at RIL earned, which includes sitting fees and commissions.

Raminder Singh Gujral – Rs 2.54 crore

Dr Shumeet Banerji – Rs 2.42 crore

Arundhati Bhattacharya – Rs 2.42 crore

His Excellency Yasir Othman H. AI Rumayyan – Rs 2.27 crore

KV Chowdary – Rs 2.61 crore

KV Kamath – Rs 2.33 crore

Haigreve Khaitan – Rs 2.47 crore

Isha Mukesh Ambani – Rs 2.31 crore

Akash Mukesh Ambani – Rs 2.31 crore

Anant Mukesh Ambani – Rs 2.31 crore

Reactions poured in, with the internet taking a dig at the salary of the Ambani clan. One user jibed, “Job market is so bad that even Mukesh Ambani isn’t getting any salary.”

Another user quipped, “When Mukesh Ambani doesn’t draw salary: Oh what a simple man! When I don’t draw salary: Unemployed. Samaaj!”

A third user remarked, “Mukesh Ambani apna ghar kaise chalate honge, iss baat ki chinta mujhe andar hi andar khaye jaa rahi hai.”

Yet another user jibed, “Mukesh Ambani now is eligible for free 5KG Ration, MNREGA, BPL Card, even his children can apply Government jobs under 10% EWS Quota.”

One user wished,

Aisa bina salary wala ameer Bhagwan sab ko banaye.”
