ALEX KRAEMER (HOST): Charles, I’m excited to have you on this morning with your background. I mean, obviously, we’ve seen the videos. We’ve seen, you know, the stills, all the different angles, everything. It is so easy to sit here and Monday morning quarterback. But honestly, what is it like for these agents when they’re there in a scrum? You’ve got multiple people. Maybe you hear a gunshot, you think he’s armed, you don’t really know what’s happening and tensions are so high. What was it like for those agents in that moment?
CHARLES MARINO (GUEST): Yeah. Good to be with you, Alex. Look, there is an obligation on the part of somebody carrying a concealed weapon, whether properly permitted or not, but especially when properly permitted. You need to use reasonable judgment, and you need to follow the law. There’s also another host of obligations that comes along with this, like carrying identification on you, which this subject did not have, and also notifying law enforcement upon contact. Look, I’ve carried a weapon my entire adult life, and I continue to do so each and every day. And the Second Amendment does not come without some responsibility. So shame on that individual for creating the very consequences that ultimately cost him his life, unfortunately.
