Mathew Knowles is speaking out after Beyoncé’s hard drive, including many of her unreleased songs, was stolen in an SUV break-in. The incident occurred last month when Bey brought her ‘Cowboy Carter’ tour to Atlanta, and as of right now, the thief apparently has not been found. Now, Mathew’s throwing shade at the choreographer, who was in possession of the device. He also spilled tea about Bey allegedly having a new project in the pipeline. Here’s what he had to say…

Mathew Knowles Weighs In With His Thoughts
Appearing on ‘The Don Lemon Show’ on Friday, August 1, the music mogul got real about the messy situation involving Beyoncé’s stolen music. When Don pressed him about the hard drive heist, Mathew made it clear he’s just as shocked as the Beehive was, saying:
“I don’t know anything other than what I’ve heard in the news, but I can tell you, Don, her choreographer had better be glad that I’m not still managing her because he would be in hot water!” Oop!
Mathew didn’t stop there. He questioned why a choreographer even had a hard drive with Bey’s unreleased tracks in the first place. “Why did he have a hard drive with all of her music? He’s a choreographer. And if he did have it, why didn’t he secure it?” Mathew stressed you never leave important hard drives unattended like that. And as we know, Bey runs a tight ship when it comes to leaks, so this slip-up is quite a big deal. Atlanta police are apparently still looking for the suspect, and it remains unclear if the hard drive was ever recovered.
Mathew Knowles Teases Beyoncé Has Another Project In The Works
But, wait a minute… Mathew might’ve just let a major secret slip, y’all. While chatting with Don, he hinted that the ‘Heated’ singer has another project in the pipeline. This could possibly be the rumored ‘ACT III’ following the release of ‘Renaissance’ and ‘Cowboy Carter.’ When asked how this theft could impact an artist like Beyoncé, whose unreleased music is now in a stranger’s hands, Mathew added, “Beyoncé will have to make a decision if she’s going to release now. She was working on another project. Now she might have to release it sooner than she anticipated.”
According to Mathew, the stolen hard drive could mean new music is closer than we thought. But the theft might force Bey to switch up her plans, as Bey’s known for her top-secret rollouts. Could she drop the project early to get ahead of any leaks?
Mathew Knowles’ Memoir Set To Be Adapted Into Film, TV Show
He’s no longer Beyoncé’s manager, but Mathew stays working. While he’s dishing on Bey’s drama, he’s also making major moves in Hollywood. In late 2023, it was announced that his 2017 book, ‘Racism From the Eyes of a Child,’ is reportedly being adapted into a film and TV show. This came after Mathew closed a $275 million deal with APX Capital Group. The project is expected to dive into his journey from growing up during the race riots in Alabama in the early ’60s. In 2022, Mathew sold his Music World Entertainment Group to APX, per Deadline. He additionally joined their board, which paved the way for this deal. No word on when the movie and the series are being released just yet.
