Serena Williams is opening up a world of adventure for her daughters.
The retired tennis icon, 43, revealed on Instagram Monday that she’s officially launched a long-planned girls-only tour of the Seven Wonders of the World, with her first stop at Niagara Falls.
“A year ago I told @olympiaohanian that we would start an epic girls trip that would include the 7 wonders of the world,” Williams captioned the post, which featured snapshots of her and her daughters Olympia, 7, and Adira, nearly 2, decked out in red ponchos at the iconic Canadian landmark. “We started with #NiagaraFalls … where to next?”
The trio braved the mist aboard Niagara City Cruises and even caught a rainbow across the roaring falls.
The family getaway is the first leg of what Williams says will be a whirlwind tour of natural, ancient, and man-made wonders.
Proud dad Alexis Ohanian, who’s married to the tennis legend, couldn’t help but gush about his wife’s parenting skills during a recent appearance on the Today show.
“I think one of the things that’s really so commendable is — y’all don’t get to see — as amazing as she is as an athlete, you know, greatest of all time, she’s an even greater mom to our daughters Olympia and Adira,” he said.
“She’s an amazing mother on top of an amazing business woman and sports icon,” he added. “And that’s something that I think few people understand. She’s reached the top of the mountain top, the highest of heights, things that most of us, I think on any other day would trade so much for. And yet, after being up there, the thing that gives her so much joy is the simple things, you know, family, that I think every one of us has an option, an opportunity. So don’t squander that.”
