A group known as the Independent Publishers Alliance has filed an antitrust complaint with the European Commission over Google’s AI Overviews, according to Reuters.
The complaint accuses Google of “misusing web content for Google’s AI Overviews in Google Search, which have caused, and continue to cause, significant harm to publishers, including news publishers in the form of traffic, readership and revenue loss.”
It also says that unless they’re willing to disappear from Google search results entirely, publishers “do not have the option to opt out” of their material being used in AI summaries.
Google told Reuters that “new AI experiences in Search enable people to ask even more questions, which creates new opportunities for content and businesses to be discovered.” The company also argued that claims about web traffic are often based on incomplete data, and that “sites can gain and lose traffic for a variety of reasons.”

Jeff and Tanya Ramsey alerted other members of their family at the HTR campground to evacuate before they were swept away by Texas floods.
KERRVILLE, Kerr County — The family of a Lewisville couple swept away during the deadly flooding in Kerr County is speaking out, describing a harrowing final phone call and desperate rescue attempt.
Eric Steele confirmed to WFAA that his brother-in-law, Jeff Ramsey, died after floodwaters rushed through the HTR campground along the Guadalupe River in Kerrville overnight on Friday, where the family was staying.
Ramsey’s body has been recovered, Steele confirmed. Jeff’s wife, Tanya Ramsey, remains missing as of 11:15 a.m. Saturday. Steele said Tanya’s phone was found inside her windbreaker jacket.
The couple had been camping with family members since Thursday. Jeff and Tanya were staying in a separate cabin on the opposite side of the campsite, Steele said.
When the floodwaters rose, it was Jeff who called the rest of the family by phone, waking them up and warning them to evacuate. Steele said without that call, they might not have survived.
“I was trying to get to their cabin, but I didn’t make it,” Steele told WFAA. “He saved me and he saved my mom.”
He said he was on the phone with Jeff and Tanya as the situation quickly unfolded. The couple begged for help and told Steele they didn’t think they were going to make it.
“They asked me to tell their kids they love them,” he said.
Steele called the couple “heroes” for saving other members of the family. He described Jeff and Tanya as a deeply loved couple—Tanya had recently beaten cancer.
“They were perfect,” Steele said.
He also said the HTR campgrounds were completely destroyed. “There is nothing there now,” he said.
As the search for Tanya continues, Steele said Jeff leaves behind two children.
This is a developing story. WFAA will provide updates as more information becomes available.

ATLANTA – Bayern Munich midfielder Jamal Musiala badly injured his left leg and was forced to leave his team’s match against Paris Saint-Germain on Saturday in the Club World Cup quarterfinals.
Musiala was hurt late in the first half following a 50-50 challenge with PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma. The replay of the gruesome injury was not shown on the big screens at Mercedes Benz Stadium.
The 22-year-old Musiala, who also plays for Germany’s national team, entered Saturday’s match with three goals in the tournament — one behind golden boot leaders Ángel Di María and Marcos Leonardo. His Club World Cup goals brought his tally to 20 this season, including 12 in the Bundesliga and three in the Champions League.
Musiala’s injury came just before halftime. The referee whistled for the break as the midfielder received treatment on the field. Serge Gnabry replaced him in the lineup to begin the second half with the score 0-0.
Musiala is a rising star, earning Player of the Year honors for the German national team in 2024. He was also runner-up for the Golden Boy award in 2023, which is awarded to Europe’s brightest under-21 talent.
Musiala debuted for Bayern Munich in 2020 when he was 17, becoming the team’s youngest ever player at the time of his debut. In 2022, he became the first teenager to appear for the German national team at a World Cup since 1958.

The deadly floods that struck Texas on the 4th of July caught local officials off guard as the torrential rains caused the Guadalupe River to rise to near-historic levels in a matter of minutes, officials said at a press conference Saturday.
A Flood Watch was in effect for parts of New Mexico and western Texas Thursday afternoon as rounds of slow-moving thunderstorms packing heavy rain moved through the area. By Thursday evening, five inches of rain had fallen in parts of western Texas, including Midland and Odessa.

The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for Kerr County, where the river is located, around 1:14 a.m. Friday.
The Guadalupe River rose 26 feet in 45 minutes that morning, Kerrville Mayor Joe Herring told reporters Friday.

“This came at night, when people were asleep in bed,” he said.
The river reached its second-highest height on record, surpassing a 1987 flood level, the National Weather Service said.
Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick told reporters that it is up to local mayors and counties to evacuate if they feel the need and many were unsure where the storm would land.
At a news conference Friday, Kerr County Judge Rob Kelly said the county does not have a warning system on the river.
Kelly was pressed by a reporter as to why evacuations didn’t take place Thursday, but the judge said, “We didn’t know this flood was coming.”

“We have floods all the time. This is the most dangerous river valley in the United States, and we deal with floods on a regular basis. When it rains, we get water. We had no reason to believe that this was going to be anything like what’s happened here, none whatsoever,” he said.
Rain continued to hit the region Saturday, prompting flash flood emergency warnings for much of Burnet County and western parts of Williamson County and Travis County.

Shares in data center equipment company Vertiv(VRT 2.82%) surged by 19% in June, according to data provided by S&P Global Market Intelligence. The move comes as the market’s concerns over a slowdown in data center capital spending have been assuaged by positive news flow from companies like Vertiv’s partner, data center architecture company Nvidia(NVDA 1.28%).
The bulls and bears debate AI/data center spending
No one likes piling into the market at the top of a bull market, especially not in the technology sector, where the cyclicality of boom and bust seems to prevail. For the bears, the boom in data center and artificial intelligence (AI)-related spending is set for a natural correction. Additionally, the uncertainty created by the tariff conflict is perceived as potentially causing a pause in spending on data centers.
For the bulls, spending on data centers is still in its early innings. In addition, the need for data center capacity to catch up with the demand trend in AI application-related spending will boost spending for many years to come.
In terms of Vertiv, the bears will point to the company’s flat year-over-year order book in the fourth quarter of 2024 as an early indication of stress down the line. Meanwhile, the bulls will point to the fact that Vertiv raised its full-year 2025 sales guidance to a range of $9.325 billion to $9.575 billion, compared to a prior range of $9.125 billion to $9.275 billion, as announced in the company’s first-quarter earnings presentations in April.
What changed in June
To stay informed about developments in the data center and AI market, it’s a good idea to follow the perspectives of hyperscalers and market service providers, as well as examine anecdotal statements and trading conditions. As previously discussed, a host of information suggests that the market remains strong.

In addition, Nvidia’s first-quarter 2026 earnings report and management commentary indicated that underlying growth in the market is excellent. For example, Nvidia’s data center-related revenue rose by 73% year over year in the first quarter of 2026.
Moreover, it’s essential to note that while companies like Nvidia are subject to export control regulations on their technology sales to China, Vertiv’s power, cooling, and infrastructure solutions for data centers don’t face the same kind of restrictions. In fact, the major problem Vertiv faces from the tariff conflict is rising costs associated with products sourced from Mexico and China, areas where management is already rebalancing to mitigate risk.
All told, the confirmation of ongoing growth in Vertiv’s end markets was a positive for the stock in June, and it remains a great way to play the data center spending boom.

A resurfaced clip of the Latin singer’s concert performances has fans saying she’s trying too hard for “attention.” In the short video, Lopez took a lively break from her set for a fun jam session with her band and background singers, breaking into James Brown’s “Super Bad.”

J.Lo can be seen throwing her hair and grunting out the lyrics as she fully tapped into the spirit of funk from the Godfather of Soul. She yelled “Watch me!” twice as the background singers sang “She got it” in between, similar to Brown’s song.
In her best soulful tone, Lopez sang “I got soul and I’m super bad” with her background singers echoing the same lyrics.
The footage, originally taken during her 2019 It’s My Party Tour, was recently posted on by The Neighborhood Talk on Instagram, where critics flooded the comments section, claiming Lopez “is addicted to the fame and attention.”
One person said, “I like Jlo but she is trying too hard no.”
Another wrote, “She’s so good… when she’s not on the stage.”
“She wants attention so bad there is absolutely no reason for her to be out here performing. She don’t even have a strong enough catalog with her own vocals,” someone else gibed.
A few even said her performance was “cringe” to watch. The harsh critique echoes a growing sentiment online, where Lopez’s live performances have sparked debate not just about her vocals, but also about whether she still has a place in today’s music landscape.
Much of the scrutiny has intensified amid headlines about her personal life. Lopez has been making waves for months following the finalization of her fourth divorce.
“Breaking up with Ben really hit her hard that she’s really trying to forget it,” a source recently claimed.
Over the years, the “Enough” actress has endured a series of high-profile relationships and marriages—some brief, others more drawn out. Lopez was married to Ojani Noa from 1997 to 1998 before getting into a short-lived relationship with Sean “Diddy” Combs. After that ended in 2001, she married Cris Judd, a union that ended after 10 months, when she filed for divorce in 2002.
Lopez then began dating actor Ben Affleck in 2003. The pair got engaged but broke up by January 2004. She went on to marry Marc Anthony in 2004 and they split in 2011.
Later that same year, she became romantically involved with choreographer Casper Smart. The two were on and off before going their separate ways in 2016. Next, Lopez began dating MLB star Alex Rodriguez in 2017. They also got engaged about two years later, but called it off in 2021. Shortly afterward — in that same year — she and Affleck gave their love another shot. They got engaged in 2022 and married the same year. By January 2025 they were divorced.
But, according to the “Accountant 2” star, there was no malicious reason for the split.
In March, Affleck told GQ, “Yeah, there’s no scandal, no soap opera, no intrigue. The truth is, when you talk to somebody, ‘Hey, what happened?’ Well, there is no: ‘This is what happened.’ It’s just a story about people trying to figure out their lives and relationships in ways that we all sort of normally do. And as you get older, this is true for me, I assume it’s true for most people, there is no ‘So-and-so did this’ or ‘This was the big event.’
